Case Knife

I was Given a Case knife a few years back and was wondering about it.. i do not know much about knifes. and was thinking about getting started into collecting.. on one blade it has XX SS USA and on one blade with a Number 54088. i was wondering what the Numbers meant? and how to go about getting the Value thanks -DiLLoNVaN

sounds like you have a case '88 pattern, 4 blade congress with stag handles and stainless steel blades. don't know what its worth though, it is a pretty good one to receive as a gift. may be you can post a picture of it? And this would probaly have been better posted in the traditional forum.
