Case Knives and Southern Grind - Strategic Alliance?

It's interesting, for sure. I'm sure you know that at Shot, Case introduced 2 new modern designs which had been made by Southern Grind.

The frame lock flipper looks nice. Ugly, fat pocket clip but everything else looks great.

Adapt or die is the age old mantra.

Sure Case still makes a nice USA made traditional, but the market trends are more modern and less traditional... with Canal Street Cutlery closing their doors, and now Queen Cutlery sadly closing shop, it appears Case, a pioneer in the game, has come to the realisation that they must offer more then just traditional patterns to survive and thrive in world of knives today. Their TecX line made in China still leaves much to be desired.

This a great business venture for them, I think: s35v flipper + ti + bearings and a pocket clip on a "Case" knife, (made in the USA by southern grind), I like it a lot!

Now we'll have to patiently wait for the Ti + CF - Southern Grind Dog Leg Jack Monkey (made by Case)...

Just hope that SG stays in control and doesn't let CASE muk it up with a million different flavors!! John
