I recently moved to a small town in NC and checked out the local town hardware store.
They have 3 wooden Case display cases full of knives. Opened with a small Skeleton key and the knives are suspended with magnets. I can’t imagine that the knives move very fast and wonder how many old carry overs might be in the cases? I will see if i can post a picture.

Nice to see a display like this, I don't think anything has likely sat in there more than 5 years.

Like seeing the Rada cutlery there too.

Nicer selection than I have at our local store. Nothing looks to old, but I can see a few I would be eyeing.

They also have the most fishing supplies I've ever seen;)
Allot more in there thanit looks from the road :D
If you want I can pm you a couple locations near there, one a pawnshop not 5 minutes from there that I've found several nice knives in. And the other is an antique mall that has a cabinet with quite a few vintage Case knives(among other brands) in near mint condition.:thumbsup:

Whoops I got that case mixed up with another one in a bait shop in NC. My bad:(
If your in Eastern NC I can give you some nice leads though, around Goldsboro,New Bern,Sneads Ferry,

Hillbilly, you’re talking EZ B&T and that place is unreal for fishing tackle- I’m a semi-regular there. Be careful of the Buck Knives though, they’ve been through one flood already (look close). OH

Sure enough, EZ was where I was thinking, then I realized he said hardware store:rolleyes:. They definitely the place to go for anything fishing related,I've been in a couple Bass Pro's and I'm convinced EZ has more rods and lures! Also now that I look even though the case is the same its not as well stocked as the one in the pics above. I'll definitely look things over good if I buy any Bucks there:thumbsup:

Ha ha can’t have anyone getting mixed up.
I’m in Granite Falls just NW of Hickory NC.
And no i did not take it home.
I bought my first ever Trapper a few weeks ago. Got a great deal on a Boker beer barrel trapper.
Tried to post pic and says it’s to big. Still haven't learned how to reduce the size on my iphone. Usually i take picture a little farther away and then crop it and that works. Not this time.

I'll have to stop by Granite Falls next time I'm over that way. I'm in a little town called Bynum in central N.C. If you are ever close to Sanford or Siler city be sure and stop by J.R. Moore's general store on 421 in Gulf N.C. They have more stuff than Walmart in that store and a nice selection of Case, Boker, Buck, and a few other brands. Lots of antiques on display. It's a cool place.

Ah ha,yeah I jumped the gun a bit. But I'm a bit familiar with that area, I used to work for a well driller out of Mooresville. When my Sister and her husband was first married they lived in the Hiddenite/Stoney Point area. I would work summers there back in high school, so I've hung allot of sheetrock around Statesville and Hickory. But thats been over 20 years ago now,man how time flies:eek:

Thanks for the great info. That trapper was mid $50 at local hardware store. I looked on internet for info on history of Case ( been around a long time) and also saw prices on some trappers. Close to $50 so probable gonna give the local Business my hard earned $$$.
Also there is a used Case Trapper i think at an antique store locally i will check on hopefully tomorrow.

$50 is a good price. Case knives are a great value.
