Can anyone comment on the scissors in the small Case folders such as the Case Trapper Small Pen w/Scissors. How do those scissors compare to Victorinox SAK scissors? TIA

I would'nt mind knowing that myself. I do know the sak sissors on the little classic are wicked.

Karen, like most of the women in the tribe, has her own classic on her keyring. She's also a neat freak, who is bound and determined I don't turn into one of those old farts with hairy eyebrows and ears. So we're out in the woods one day on one of our rambles, and she's sitting on a log next to me. She spies one of those hairs sticking out of my right ear and tells me to sit still while she trims my ear. She's done this before, and thanks to Karen I'm well groomed.

She's snipping away when I feel a pinprick of pain, and she yells "I'm sorry!". There's a warm feeling of something in my ear. She'd nicked the flap thing at the front of the ear with just the tip of the classic sissors and I was bleeding like a stuck pig. Held some tissue to it, and it took about 15 minutes to stop the bleeding.

Man, those sak sissors are not to be underestimated!

I've seen the Case ones and I wondered about them. I like the mother of pearl peanut with the sissors. A good Sunday to to meeting knife.

ras,
My 11 year old daughter has the little WR Case Peanut with scissors in mop shackled to her keys as jackknife describes and that you are inquiring about. She is a budding art student and uses commercial scissors and exacto knives all the time, so I'll ask her this afternoon at around 3:00 pm ect and let you know.

i just compared the scissors of my SAK huntsman (3 1/2 in.) with those on my Case pen knife (2 5/8 in.) the SAK scissors are larger (bigger knife), thicker steel, stronger spring. the Case cuts paper well, but if your fingernails are a little on the thicker side, the Case is a little flimsy, but the SAK manages well. does Case make a bigger knife than the pen, with scissors ? if so, i'd go for that (or SAK) if the scissor function is why you are buying the knife. roland

I was considering a Case Pen Knife with scissors to carry instead of a Victorinox SAK. The scissors are the only reason I'd buy that knife and if they are wimpy (which you imply) then they're ruled out. Thanks.

ras,

Roland is correct with this assessment. I had my daughter use both of these and to give me a comparison, as her younger fingers are more nimble than mine, and she gave the  in favor of the sak. Of coarse you have to take into consideration the 1 inch difference in the knives, which maybe a little unfair.
