I really enjoy this forum for a lot of reasons, and being a Schrade and Ulster collector, I kept seeing and reading about Case knives here, and don't know so much about the older ones, and the dating, but figured I'd like a few (so far just a few). So I picked a handle style and carefully bought some new ones, and came up with the Amber Bone handles to collect, in some of the "recommended" patterns. I've been pleased with my choice. They really have a nice look to them

So far so good, I've purchased all of them for under $30.00 a piece, and each one is a great knife, with good snap. The Texas Jack just came in today, my first in CV. Love the alternate blade.

And I always coveted one of the 47PEN patterns, so I "found" one of them too. Not new, but a real dandy. It has different stagging patterns on the handles. It has seen the pocket on a few weekends.

Thanks to all for a great forum, there are many influences here. Ultimately I'll need a stag damascus peanut, so you know who you are.

Nice choices. I'm partial to the 18, 32 and 47 patterns myself!

That one looks to date to 1981. I went on a tear for a bit trying out different brands and I think Case has the most bang for the buck. I hope they never go out of the good old USA. Case has a slightly exagerated hollow grind I find to be of quality.
Different lighting, but I bet the color bone is the same.Mine has blue hues to it on the ends.

Nice knives and great pics!

I really like Case's amber bone scales. They're not too fancy and they look really good.

Yes, it is an 81, and yes the back of mine looks just like that. It was getting dark when I took the picture, and sun really brings out the color.

I like the natural bone color with the red, and the color combination gives it an old west look. Course I'm a sucker for a redhead with freckles and creamy skin anyway. Put a cowboy hat on her and I'm through. :D

WOW!! I've been thinking about picking up an amber bone knife or four (in CV, of course). Those photos sold me! The Case website doesn't do that jigging justice! Thanks for the photos!

I have two in the Amber Bone, one of the CV Texas Jack and One Damascus Peanut. Both are really nice. Steven

Last year I picked up two Amber bone models at a Hardware store nearby, I favoured the look of this bone also. happy with the purchase of these two.
