Is the grind on the large Case Sodbuster flat or hollow?

Is it different for the CV model or the TruSharp version?

I've searched the web many times for this and can't find it in any specs and can't tell from any pictures.

Thanks

At least mine are hollow ground. It's kind of a flat grind with a slight concavity, if that makes any sense. In fact, they look flat, but if you check with a straight ruler you can tell they're hollow ground.

Late response to a timely topic: I was sharpening a small Sodbuster Jr. yesterday (and admiring it), and noticed it was flat ground: yes, dead flat, no hint of a hollow grind. It is the Chestnut jigged scale 6137 CV. I had always assumed all SBJs had a slight hollow, as Francis described above. Also, the blade measured at the spine is about .010" thinner than my 2 other yellow SBJs. Now I know why it's my favorite.
Dude

I have a large Case SB model 4138SS. It is a flat grind.

I only have a stainless jr, and it has the very faint hollow to it that's so close to being a ffg.

I just checked mine, bought this year, stainless steel and . . . with a straight edge on the side of the blade and looking for light with a jeweler's visor with a white back ground behind it taking many samples it is indeed hollow ground . . .
but
it is just the slightest bit. Basically I would call it flat and in one spot it was ever so slightly convex.
I would say the hollow would measure in the 100 thousandths of an inch : ~.00001 inch.

Need some photos here.
I love these things; really fits in my hand as a good work knife.
Very practical and almost free to own.

I have both a sodbuster and a sodbuster jr. Both bought in the last five years or so .
The full size sodbuster is flat ground
The sodbuster Jr. hollow ground.

Edited to add: both of mine are CV steel.

My Case Sod Buster Jr 2137 SS with the brushed stainless blade with the blade etching and black synthetic handles is very definitely a full hollow grind.

My Case Sod Buster Jr 6137 SS Amber Bone, and 6137 CV Chestnut Bone, are both full flat ground with polished blades. I don't have a full-sized Sod Buster Jr. in the '138 pattern to compare to.

Here's mine next to a small Kissing Crane. Looks pretty flat ground for the most part; very, very slight hollow from a large wheel.
