I am not a Case kinda guy, never have been. I've played with a few from store displays, never felt the urge to buy one though. Owned a Sodbuster Junior for a month or so just to see why people like the pattern so much.Carried it,used it hard, and found it to be a very good knife. It just didn't fit my taste so I gave it to my son (he loves it).

One of the local shops I haunt has had a few Case knives around for a couple of months now and my hand passes right by to grab up other brands I like. Well that didn't happen yesterday. This one came home with me, not fancy or a collectable, but I like it.

1974 31SAB Swell-end Jack ,a pattern I really like  It has black composistion scales,CV blades, and it even has half-stops.My son won't be getting this one.

Good lookin' knife. You chose well!

That's a dandy. Great pattern and chrome vanadium steel too.

Todd A, That 31 Pattern with the saber Blade is very collectible in mint condition. It's very rare to find that knife much less in a store!! You better put that one up and buy you another used one to use.

Congrats on the classic Jack. I just bought my first Case as well last week. A autumn barnboard jigged Jr Scout. I liked it so much I ordered another one but with Indian stag scales.

Welcome to the monkey house, texasflyfisher. Watch your footing, it's a long way down. ;)

Thanks for the comments guys.

d.parker, duly noted and as much as it will kill me the 31 will stay put up and unused.

Please tell me that this one is just a plain old user.

A 1977 6202 1/2 Bare-head jack. Basic delrin scales,CV blades, with half-stops.

Todd A. No sir that's not a user either to me. A lot of the patterns of the seventies have been dropped or redesigned by Case. Any Case XX USA DOTTED Knives of the Seventies in mint condition will only increase in value. They are 38 to 29 yrs. old at this time. Find you one that's not mint plenty of them around. Nice knives you have.

Now, I'm a big fan of Mr. Parker and totally respect his point of view but I for one can't resist the lure of carrying the few (once mint) knives I own from the seventies and enjoy putting them gently to a stone and bringing the edge to life.

I'm a step further than Blues.... its akin to blasphemy to me, for any knife to not be carried or used. (no offense meant to collectors, I just ain't one... thats just the closest word to my feeling.) If you bought it to carry it, then carry it!

Thats a great pattern! I have one just like, plus a few more with different handle materials. I have one that is almost mint but the small blade is snapped off, I'm thinking about modifying it to a single blade.
