i recently received a Case mid folding hunter CV (liner lock and pocket clip). the edge had not been ground all the way to the tip, so the tip was rounded rather than a sharp point. i could poke the palm of my hand firmly without trauma.
i think a hunter blade should have a sharp point for puncturing, so i decided to finish the edge right to the tip. however it soon became apparent that the edge would not meet the spine unless i ground down the tip of the spine as well; which i did. so now my knife has a point as i think a clip blade should.
is this model supposed to have a rounded tip ? if not, have others had to grind the tip of the spine to form a point ? (felt a little "abusive" grinding the spine of a brand new knife). roland
