Looking at both of these knives for a smaller edc. Want to stay right around 3 inches.

Any side by side pics and opinions of these two would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I don't have any pics or the copperhead but I will say the Pemberton is a wonderful little knife and super high quality in every way. I'm very impressed with mine. Had it a couple weeks now and it's a perfect fit in the watch-pocket of my jeans.

I don't own either but looking at pictures of both I like the shape of the copperhead more than the pemberton, but they both look nice. Pemberton looks more bulky.

The mini copperhead is only available in stainless steel. The Pemberton is only available in 1095 carbon steel. Just something to think about...

I am really fond of the copperlock. Don't have a mini, but the full size is a really nice combination of slim and stout. I have yet to decide on a GEC, so I know not what I speak of there.

The light wasn't the best, but: here is a two-bladed Pemberton in side-by-side comparison with Mini Copperheads with clip and wharncliffe mains, respectively.

While similar in length, the patterns feel very different to me. The Pemberton is more substantial (heavier) and feels more mechanically sound. The wharncliffe Copperhead is more tightly built than the clip version (the latter of which has blade rub and a slightly loose pen blade joint), but the angle of the open pen blade on both is an oddity.

On the other hand, the Copperheads are way slim in one's pocket, and possess incomparable style-- especially the wharncliffe version. ;)

Hope this helps.

My vote goes to northfield all the way. They make some beautiful knives with nice tight tolerances and great qc

I have both copperheads and not a pemberton. The angle on the pen blades is strange and they both feel kind of dainty. For my money and for heavier work, I'd go for the pemberton.

Best regards

I got a pemberton a few weeks ago. It kicked the Case out of my pocket. It is now my most used knife. It is SOLID and well built. I love the thing and it is a little razor now that holds a good edge.

I'll echo ~P's comments on the stoutness of the Pemberton vs. the slim carry of the mini-Copperhead. The Wharncliffe mini is a great work khakis knife for me, slips into the pocket and you don't know it is there until you need it. Plus the blades are "office work friendly", no one blinked an eye when I used it to open boxes.

For some reason, people at work get a little agitated at clip blades, even the small ones on a Peanut or the Pemberton. You should have seen the reaction when I opened up my Conductor, and it's small. I can't imagine if I opened up a bigger one!

I thought I took a pic of my Pemberton but I can't find it  Here's my mini-Copperheads:

A comparable Boker pen knife, about 1/16" shorter than the Case, with nice stag:

Thanks. Those are beautiful knives. The side by side comparisons are helpful.

Thanks for all the pics and responses. It helps to hear from others who are carrying these on a regular basis.
