So I just ordered a Case prime vintage stag mini copperlock. I have 4 other case knives and all four are built to perfection, though I hear many many people say otherwise. So much so that I almost feel a tad worried about the $100 case I just bought. There's talks of bad centering and blade play in more recent products. Anyways, does anyone have anything good to say about this damn copperlock I just ordered? Haha thanks

Mike,I always write a side note stating make sure the centering is good and the grind is even or it's getting sent back.

I've heard of doing that and always remind myself to but right before pulling the trigger I forget... it never fails

I asked the same question some time back. Case folders will probably hold up just fine for every day use. The f&f may not be as good as it was, but they will still serve their purpose.

Ordered my blue bone mini copperlock about 4months ago. It did have a chip in one of the scales when I got it. Was otherwise perfect. Sent it to Case (they mailed me a prepaid envelope so shipped on third dime), and got it back 3 weeks later absolutely spot on perfect. I love that little knife. It's really beautiful and totally functional. Rock solid lockup, perfect centering, excellent all around.

If it's not perfect, Case will make it so.

So knife came today...
Blade is suuuper offcentered, when closed the tip pokes out just a tad bit, and there's a small bit of play. Got it from knife center. Not their fault though it was unopened from the case facrory. Kinda in aw about this one. Someone new to knives may not have noticed this, it is still very funcuntional, but I just can't get past these little things. Sending it back tomorrow. I post this only because I would want to know these things before buying a 100 dollar case knife. I love case, very much. But the quality control complaints, which I refused to believe, are most defenetly true.

So couldn't give up on Case, refuse to. Just received the very same knife I returned to knife center, ordered this one from DLT. Prime vintage stag mini copperlock. And this is absolutely perfect. Solid lock up, hard snap shut, blade centering right on the money. Just a bit of feedback if anyone was having any Case issues. There are some bad ones out there yes, but there are some damn damn good ones as well. Very happy I have this a second try. https://www.flickr.com/gp/154587772@N04/5nE2r5https://www.flickr.com/gp/154587772@N04/TkQWgz

Case produces so many knives that lemons are sure to get by. One other thing is a lot of wannabe collectors will send them back if the blade isn't absolutely perfectly centered, and that tends to make Case seem worse than they are.
The problems you had with that first knife is worthy of being sent back for sure, and glad you got a good one later.

Case seems to be the only knife im o.k. with being a bit off centered. As long as the blade doesn't scrape the side I can deal with it. Once there a strong amount of blade play it something that's gonna eventually keep it out of my rotation

I had a fine one that wasy regular EDC. I gave it away to a couple worker and it's his daily EDC now. It's a lovely knife meant for using. Case makes a fantastic clip point btw.
