I got a new Case Mini Copperlock in the mail today. The tip is a bit proud and catches my finger when running along the spine with the knife closed. Anybody else have this issue? Probably going back to the vendor tomorrow, but the clamshell packaging had to be cut to get the knife out...

I'd send it back immediately. Big defect in my opinion.

If the knife hasn’t got anymore defects, I would file down the kick.
Slowly and checking every couple of passes
You’ll have to do it anyway after some years of use and sharpening.

I would return it for a replacement. If you file the kick it voids the guarantee and if you overdo it, you'll get a sunk, non flush spring on open......

Not had this fault with any of the Mini Copperlocks I've had, so best send it back and buy one in a box not a blister pack where possible;)

I have one. The tip does not sit proud. I accept many minor issues with pocket knives, but that's a functional problem that will get worse with sharpening over time. I'd send it back.

Got my return authorization # from SMKW. My other Mini Copperlocks also came in boxes, and none have this problem. I guess this model, yellow delron, with CV blade is an exception regarding packaging. Going back to SMKW this AM.

Probably how they keep the cost lower on the yellow series.

That could be. I think the yellow delrin handles help with the cost also. Really dislike the clamshell packaging though...

Don’t void the warranty, sent back for replacement, no sense in fixing a safety issue.
