After seeing a picture of this knife in, of all places, the Spyderco forum, I started looking around.

I need some knife expertise from the Case crowd.

Is the only CV version of this knife the yellow delrin model?

And how long were the Mini-Copperlocks made in CV?

Also, what's a fair price in your estimation? I see one right now for $65 plus shipping, but that seems just a bit steep to me.

I paid around $42.00 for mine in stainless and ebony from SMKW's, but that was a few years back.

Amber Bone SS small Copperlock can be had for $43.00 at knifeworks. I'm getting ready to pull the trigger.

I'd pay more for CV, but I was hoping it came (even in a discontinued version) in something besides the delrin.

I didn't know Mini-Coppers were made in cv at all.

The ones I have are all stainless and cost around 45 dollars last year, very good slim lockback with a decent blade.

I think CASE made a full size Copperlock in yellow with cv Wharncliffe blade some years back&they are not easy to find now. Expect a higher price.

Hey Guyon, looks like I followed you over here from the Spyderco forum, but I'm not stalking you, I promise, lol.

Mine is definitely cv. don't know if it was made in any other handle colors/materials. Here are some more pics.

I can't give you any help on the info, but I looked at one in Bermuda Green at Sportsmans Warehouse awhile back and really liked the way it felt.
Should be a great edc size...

I bought two yellow mini coperlocks in CV for $25 each at the A.G Russell show 3
months ago. Guy gave me a real deal :)

Had a large one but gave it to my bro.

Have given a few to my father-n-law over the years.
His favorite pocket knife.

I had a large one (wharncliffe) but sent it to my bud, fewpop.

I still have the small with clip blade. Pretty cool knife but I wish the grip was just a bit thicker. (Takes a nice edge.)

One nice thing about this pattern is that you can pull open the blade without using the nail nick. Just grab and go.

cgmblade, thanks for the pix of the cv Mini Copper, never heard of that before, maybe a rare collectors' item.....

They do pinch open nicely and the lock up is smooth. Mainly thin in the handle but I do have a stag one I bought from a forum member that's FAT...but it's not very nice stag, pale and not much texture really-just need to work out how to torch it without wrecking it. 40-55 .dollars seems to be the price range, well worth it.

Willgoy, it was my pleasure to post the pics. That knife was my favorite edc for years. I'm no expert on case knives and don't know how rare the cv models are but I've certainly enjoyed having it. iirc I picked that knife up in the mid nineties, probably at an Ace Hardware. I don't remember, but I doubt I would've spent more than $40 or $45 at the time.

When I bought it I probably would have preferred an ss blade as I didn't want the blade to tarnish and I've spent a lot of time over the years polishing it, but now I think I should just let it develop it's own natural patina and not worry about it.

As you said, the do pinch open nicely and the lock up is smooth. That and the thin handle is what attracted me to it in the first place. I actually prefer the yellow delrin over other handle materials I've seen.

I've got my eye on one in amber bone SS at the Tractor Supply in my area, it's $49.95 I think. Only problem is the SS, is it worth buying? The only Case I have so far is CV and I really like it.

Folks, let's start discussing the knives more and the valuations and purchasing process less. Thanks.

In addition to the mini copperlock in cv above I also have two Case Trappers. One in ss the other is cv. In comparing the two I think the ss is just as good as the cv model. For my uses they both seem to take and hold a good edge and I don't think you'd go wrong with either one.

This thread got me looking around and I found a Queen Copperhead that I think is very nice. It is in D2 steel. It's not a lockback but I don't think that really matters. I just may have to pick one of these up someday.

Here's a picture I found on the web.

Here's my ebony one. I wish Case would bring ebony back. It was a smkw'S sfo

Both knives have walk and talk like the best of them. For a single blade knife they are astetically perfect. The copperhead bolsters make for nice sunken joints.
