Case nail breaker

I have the case yellow stockman and have had it for four years now. It is one of my everyday carry knives and the spey blade is a nail breaker after countless cleanings and oilings it still hasn't gotten better,is anyone else's like this too or is it just mine

I have a few stockmen and have never had one be that stiff with the spey. I would really try and work some oil in the joints and if that doesn't work there might be a defect and should be sent in for repair or replacement. Hope this helps.

I've asked the same question a while ago - my lg. congress had a very stiff pen and a very difficult coping blade, too.
Dry graphite powder and leaving the blades in the 45° open position helped a lot.

My 6447 has the same problem - the spey is next to impossible to open. I'll try to cure it as well

Is it possible to grind in another nail Nick closer to the tip for better leverage?
I know it's not as neat but may help with the nail breaking, the Schatt & Morgan I recently picked up was made with that in mind, the nail Nick is close to the tip, where other mfg may place it for looks, centered basically
