Maybe already, but I just found out that Case knives now has an sub-brand TecX made in China. Nothing against China nor Case, just surprised that one of the oldest, "American" companies (owned by Zippo) is now having a sub-brand made in China. Oh well, many others like Buck have joined them. And at least on fixed blade labeled Victorinox made in Spain. I guess brand names don't mean much any more :(

The trend of some international models has been going on for decades. There is nothing wrong with it as long as the materials, QC and price are all appropriate.

Spyderco has models made around the world and is a highly regarded manufacturer.

Lots of Case TecX models shown on the big bookstore site - many for Harley-Davidson. 20 different models labeled TecX made by Case.
Just search their site for "Case TecX knives".

Brand names haven't meant much for a long time. Ford Escape powertrains are made by Mazda. Casstrom (Swedish brand) made in Spain. Fallkniven (Swedish brand) made in Japan. Etc. Etc. Use to be brand names meant something and you could rely on the quality of a brand, even be loyal to it. No more. Hard to know who makes what or where now. Not trolling to argue; just saddens me the current state of affairs :(

Sort of the like the Queen debate and the new Old Timer Heritage line. I do not mind Chinese made as long the quality is good and fit and finish, but still would prefer other brands from other nations.

The last new Case I bought was so bad I had to send it back to Case for repairs. That was eight weeks ago and it's still there! I think the Rough Ryder Reserves are nicer knives than a lot of new Case knives so maybe they are getting tired of putting out poor quality knives..........I hate it because I would always rather buy American but a lot of the Asian knives are pretty good!!!

The Case import line has been around for awhile.
At least Case is not having their regular traditional line being made off- shore and hopefully it stays that way.

I'll do whatever I can to help:)
