Case Outlet

Yesterday I had to take an unexpected drive through West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. I was having a pretty lousy time until upon the return trip, I noticed a “Case Outlet” sign at the Jonesville, NC exit. Unable to resist I exited and found a Trustworthy Hardware store (with a Case Outlet sign) that had a pretty impressive array of Case brand knives at decently discounted prices (at least from what my local hardware store charges). Being a pretty simple guy, I stayed away from the more exotic models, and focused on choosing between models with Autumn Barnboard Bone, Antique Bone, and Genuine Stag handles. Somehow though, I ended up buying a simple Amber Bone Peanut, and a Yellow Handle Mini Trapper with CV blades. For about the first 100 miles after I left the store, I had to fight myself from turning around to go back and buy something a little more interesting. In the end, I decided to stick with the nice little users that I left the store with, and leave the others for another trip. If any of you are going to be in the Jonesville, NC area, this store is well worth checking out.

PS- Don't listen to me, I'm just jealous...

I just didn't think a little ole Yellow handled Mini Trapper, or Amber Bone Peanut was worth posting a picture of.:) No actually I just got in a short while ago, and haven't had a chance to photo them yet. 1400 miles in a Honda Element with just a sleepover in Charlotte last evening wasn't exactly how I wanted to spend New Year, but the Case Outlet was the bright spot of the drive. If I had it to do over again, a plane ticket would have been much more efficient.

Congratulations on the new knives,I wish I was near a case dealer,I love case knives but I usually have to buy sight unseen.I would rather pick them out myself so I could get the handle colors I like.let us know how the cv trapper works out, lots of people swear by them.

Every knife is worth taking pictures of.....even if it looks like poo. Just so you can show people. :)

Will do...I used the Mini Trapper to cut an apple this evening (after reading some of the posts on these forums). It didn't seem to do too much, maybe caused a little slight speckling here and there. I plan to make this one of my EDC just to see how the blades hold up.

I did have him pull out a couple of Peanuts for me to choose from. They both looked pretty much the same, (neither had nearly as nice of jigging as the Mini Trapper I returned last week) but it was still nice being able to choose. It was also nice to see the different handle materials in something other than pictures.

I agree, I like looking at pictures in these threads. I'll most likely get a couple pictures tomorrow when the lighting is better.

When I paint my masterpiece. -Bob Dylan-

I just noticed your sig line...I'm a big Band fan, and lots of The Band songs, (including "When I Paint My Masterpiece") is one of the things (other than the Case Outlet), that made the long ride, a little less long.

Great pics, thanks for sharing them. :)

I hope the reason for your road trip worked itself out.

Check out the "Musical Alphabet" thread over in the Community forum for lots of good music videos...

It worked out as well as it could have. My niece was involved in an accident on I-95 near Columbia, SC. She was a passenger in a vehicle that was rear-ended by an 18 wheeler that failed to make a stop. Amazingly, although several people were seriously injured, there was only one fatality in the vehicle. My niece came out virtually unscathed. She spent the night in a hospital. When her mother got the call, I tried to convince her mother that a plane would be much quicker, but at that moment she really just wanted to get in a car, and get to her daughter. She was going to make the trip by car alone. Not wanting her to make the trip alone, I drove her.

I'll check out the video section.
