Welcome to the latest edition of the Case Pass-Around, originated by JohnDF
I was sent the package by @seas165 and hope to continue this Porch tradition.

Here are the rules:

I will draw a winner and send the box to them.
They will choose two, three, or however many knives.
They will replace the knives with some of their own (Case Knives Only).
They will hold their own drawing and pass the box on to the next person.

Porch Members Only!
Must have over 50 posts in the Traditional Knife Forum.
Must be a paying member of Bladeforums.
These rules must follow the box every time or John will call foul.

Well, it had 50 successful rounds - but with gradually waning interest.
If no one wants to go next - and since it looks like JohnDF isn't active here any more, I am thinking I'll retire it and break up the box into multiple GAWs.
Kinda sad, damn it....

That's certainly a bummer. It looks like there is a general waning of interest overall for these types of endeavors.

'Tis a pity. These are fun ways to engage the membership here in our mutual interests. I wonder if folks have diminished collections, evolving interests, or they simply don't want to deal with the hassle and/or responsibility anymore.

It’s a great GAW. There’s been many times I’ve considered entering. I just honestly didn’t have but maybe one Case I was willing to part with.

Even though I'm ineligible (want to ship that lot to the EU and get past our Customs goblins...?) I've enjoyed watching these exchanges. Somehow, there seem to be a lot of people who've stopped posting and things in general are not as lively as in the past maybe ?

I hate to see it end as I've enjoyed watching it. My main issue is that I'm not interested in the patterns that are in the box. My focus is limited to a small variety of patterns.

I wonder what happened to John, it says his last activity was August 2024. Anyone know him, and can check if he's okay?

OK, so I am not going to let it end. Give me a week or so, and I will revamp it, and see if that can't get some more interest out of it. I have a few ideas, but it will take a little while to procure properly.

OK, as planned, I have revamped it and will start a new thread for the box. I got rid of all the duplicate 18s and replaced them with some much nicer stuff. We'll see if it continues....
