Does anyone else like these 2 3/4" penknives?
Case does a two blade the, Small Pen and a three blade the Small Stockman.

While smaller than the 020, the Peanut which measures 2 7/8" closed, these knives to me, are still not only neat, also still quite useful.

Oh how I wish Case would do these in CV.
I remember when these knives, as so many of Case's line was CV.

I also had a two blade by Boker, with carbon steel blades, and they still make this one.[8228 I think ??] with Rosewood handles.
Hen & Rooster is another one I had with various bone handles.

Oh I like my Peanuts, still these patterns in this 2 3/4" size such as 083 and similar, are a part of history, and my personal history as well.

Ladies and Gents used these, and I do mean use.
Kids, well it was pretty special to have knife like an adult, just smaller, that was just "my size" and "just like yours".

I have a Case 083 stockman in brown delrin.

I have four small stockmans.

The H&R 363 is a tad longer, but under 3".
It is a excellent little knife.
For some reason the blade lengths are much longer than the other small stockmans.
So I have much more knife in my pocket for another 1/4 "
It comes close to my small 3 1/4" Queen stockman in blade length.

I had a RR in sawbone, which one of my girls snapped up! You know, the usual 'Oh Daddy' routine! It was also a well made knife.

The Case 083 is little, and the walk and talk is less than the other knives.
It feels like it was just too fiddly to make, and does not feel solid.

I have a small Bear in oak. Terrible F&F! A joke, like it was a high school project for some kid! But it is much more solid than the Case.

So I can't tell if it is the smallness or the F&F of the little Case that I don't use it.

But the F&F and the size of the H&R and the Queen works really well for me.
I have my eye on a Case 6344 stockman in Red Bone in CV, 3 1/4 long!
I think that will work for me!!

One of my favorite patterns.

I look for old ones at good prices and use them. F&F on the old ones is even better than what I have seen of the new ones.
