Hi all! I was wondering if anyone would be able to post some pictures of a Case pattern 99 next to a pattern 54 Trapper? Or possibly a Buck 112, or some other knife that would likely be familiar to me. Also, I'd like to hear any thoughts that you may have about the 99s. I'm considering looking for one, but I want something that I can enjoy. I don't want to buy one that'll never see the light of day. Thanks! -Lance

I don't have the exact knives you mentioned, besides the #99, Lance. Any others??
The #99s are on the upper end of the weight and length scale of something one would like to carry!!

Thanks Charlie! Maybe a 75 pattern Stockman, or a 2 blade GEC 73.

I have one. Here is a picture of it in my hand. They are pretty big knives.

Nice Yellow, jc57!!!
Here's a comparison pic, Lance; I don't have a Case 75 (4 1/4"), so the one pictured is a 92 (4").
Top knife is a #5299. The next is a GEC #81, then the Case.
Next the GEC #73, weighs 3.96oz, and the Greenbone #99 weighs 4.52oz.

Great info and pics guys! Thank you! It's greatly appreciated! I think I'm going to try one. The search is on! -Lance

It is truly an excellent knife. I got it in a giveway here from @Blues a few years ago, which was in honor of his dog, Smoky, who had passed away. I treasure it, both for the knife itself and the provenance of how I received it.

@TheFort - if you need a pretty beefy slipjoint that can do some real work, it's a champ. The pen blade alone is bigger than many other main blades. :)

Edit - tried to tag you, The Fort The Fort :) Didn't see the space.

Nice knives guys! S'cuse me while I wipe the drool from my lower lip! Charlie, those 99's are fantastic!

I like the big 99. Here's one that ESNYX put new scales on along with the CS Trapper and Buck 112 w/old micarta scales.
