Mostly collect 70's folders, but thought it was odd that I hadn't seen this fixed blade Case before.

This pattern was made in the late 70' and early 80's if my Google-Fu is strong
I initially though it was a 65-69, but I think the single dot between Case and XX on the first line makes it a '79....any ideas?

4.25" blade that looks like it would be a pretty good skinner

Dead mint, gonna be hard to convince myself to use this one, but it is begging for it ;)

Hadn't seen or heard of these before, but my own Googling seems to confirm 70s to early 80s vintage. 1979 seems about right, assuming the 'dot' is the indicator. Some other pics I've seen have shown the pattern number R603(?) on the back of the tang, as well as an 'SSP' stamp. Case did use the 'SSP' mark, sometimes associated with the pattern#, on some of their '70s-era stainless blades (I have a couple), and I believe the 'P' indicated a 'Polished' edge on those knives (they tend to be buffed to a higher finish, near the edge).

Nice find.

There was a set of 3 or 4 of these with different blades in the late 1970's when Case was going commemorative/set crazy. Seems like a Choctaw and Arapaho and maybe one more. For as many as they made they are hard to find these days.

The flapped holster sheath looks like it was inspired by by Buck's '70s sheathes. (My 118 is later and has a snapped wrap-around sheath I like better: more compact and no rattling.)
That sheath looks pretty snug, though. Very cool knife.

I've got a Case bird and trout knife from the '70s that has a very similar sheath. I've always felt they did a nice job on it.

Say Heah Guy's, I just got a 10 dot XX Case Pawnee, It was never abused and doesn't appear to ever been sharpened, But talking about sharp, Defenetly a slicer, it's a rain blade and feels pretty good in the hand, Atleast now I have a Case combo. I have a Case Jungle Machete a 10" blade, with a camp sheath. Yeah, that will work. Any of you Gents and or Ladies know the type of steel, I know it's Stainless, but specifically what type of stainless. Thanx in advance.
