case pocket knives

New to the site. Have a bunch of case collectible knives I receive from my father in law. Many if not all still unopened or still in original case. these were never used but rather stored for 30-40 years. does anyone know where I can go to get some sort of value on these knives. He is getting into his mid 80's and I told him I would post and try to sell these knives for him either thru this a site like this or thru ebay/craigslist.
Any direction here would be appreciated.

Check COMPLETED listings on the bay to get a feel for the current market values as well as picking up a copy of "Collecting Case knives Identification and Price Guide" By Steve Pfeiffer.:thumbup:

Consider acquiring a soft back book like C Houston price and Mark Zaleskys book "Official Price Guide To Collector Knives"

Consider a gold account here if the collection is substantial and you want to use the exchange or ask values

Suggest you pony up for a Gold membership here. It's only $25 a year and allows you to sell through the Exchange forum. The fees on big auction sites can run in the 12 to 13% range though you do reach a wider range of buyers.

You could also join the Case Collectors Club for 1 year through the Case web site, they also have private for-sale forums, though the number of active users is fairly small.

Otherwise you'll have to research what things sell for on the big auction site as was suggested above and post your items accordingly.
