Case Pocketworn

What do you all think about Case's "Pocketworn" knives? I tend to like them, since I like the smooth polished feel of them, but maybe you like to put your own wear on your knives? Here is the one in my pocket today, with some wear from me and some from Case.

I like the ones I have. I have a couple from the "Corn Cob Jig Old Red Bone" family, one Harvest Orange, and two Bermuda Green Pocket Worn.

I tend to like almost all of Case's jigging patterns, though.

Here's a Trapper in the Old Red Bone variety:

It wouldn't have much of an impact on a purchase decision if it was pocket worn or not. I like them and there are a couple very nice "harvest orange" pocket worn knives that I've been oogling over. Very nice looking!

The one you have in post #1 is a beauty for sure!

Either or. Seems it don't take long for natural pocket worn to develop, if my CV amber jigged bone canoe is any indication.

The jigging pattern may have something to do with how soon the pocket worn shows up.
My 828318 Dixie Stockman with Copperhead jigged bone covers has been carried as much as the Case canoe (often times paired together) since I've had it, yet shows little to no pocket wear so far.

While I really like the look of pocket-worn bone, I prefer the feel of crisp jigging in use. I switch carries so often that none of my knives show any pocket wear.

I like them both. I like the crisp edges of the regular peach seed jigging, and the smooth feel of the pocket worn is comfortable in hand. Here's an example of each.

I like this approach, with so many knives it's going to take 600 lifetimes to give 'em all fair wear. So this PW is an ideal solution. This one on a Mini Copperlock from 1998 I gave away, looked very attractive.

I like pocketworn, but I do find myself wishing Case would reduce the scale of their jigging as the knife gets smaller.

I got this one a couple weeks ago. The pocket worn is nice, but honestly, I can take it or leave it. I bought it because I liked the red.

I prefer to put my own wear on them. That doesn't mean I won't purchase or cherish a pocket worn knife, because I certainly will. I just prefer the other.

This is my case 6.5375 that I wore down and then dyed black, and now have worn down again. Carried almost constantly for something like 4-5 years now.

I'm not 100% sure but I believe the PW greybone is one of my most abundant handle materials. It's on the half whittler in my pocket right now and I'm waiting on the Case Barlow in that material as I type this.

Loving this thread! I do like pocket worn, very much. I just took this picture intending to post in another Case thread, then came across this one, so here I am. I have four Case swaybacks and I think this is my nicest one. If I recall correctly, this is "pocket worn old red bone" and is from 2011. There is a bit of a story to go with it...
We travel to Michigan to visit family at least once a year and often take "blue highways" and avoid the interstates. Several times we passed through Reynolds, Indiana, a little town where there is a nice hardware store with a big Case sign on the side. I've wanted to stop but we usually passed by at the wrong time of day, or on a Sunday. Finally we got a chance to stop. I found this beautiful swayback there, and had a chance to talk Case knives with one of the employees, who showed me the cheetah that is his daily carry. My wife bought something there too, a shovel as I recall.
