Got these in recently after a long wait (ordered Sept '06!). These are nice looking knives and I'm glad I picked them both up. But...
The stockman arrived with quite a bit of red rust, especially on the clip point blade. In addition the tip of the clip point isn't remotely sharp...the secondary bevel kind of "runs out" at the tip. In addition there is no spacer between the clip and the sheep's foot so there's a bit of rust in there between the blade tangs too. I was able to clean the rust up (mostly) with some Nevr-Dull and a lot of elbow grease. Trouble is the etching on the damascus is now "off" where the corrosion was the worst.
The Tiny Trapper arrived in slightly better condition but both blades had a wire edge, and that was nicked slightly on the clip point. Took a little time with some crock sticks to clean up. Plus, there isn't any snap to the spey blade when closing it. Maybe there's some gunk or grease or something stuck in there; I don't know.
Anyway, they're pretty knives but be sure you have the chance to handle one before you buy it. I really like the peachseed jigged amber bone, it has a nice "tone" to it and the random jigging makes it look more "correct" to my eyes.
I'm really quite surprised about the rust, one would think that Case would've used a little oil or something before packing the knives up.
Here are some pics, with one for size comparison as well. The tiny trapper one came out so nicely I've got it set up as my desktop wallpaper at work.
