I have a few of my grandfathers old case knives, would case put new blades on them for a fee?

My brother sent in my grandfather's old stockman, and it was a wreck. Broken back spring, etc. Came back looking like new. I don't think they charged him a thing.

If it were me, I would keep it as-is and preserve it as "grandads knife". Buy another one as your user.

If it is a discontinued model you're probably SOL.
They can't fix my 11031SH, " No parts available" excuse. IMHO, part of the real reason is "it's out of warranty". They could make any part of that knife they wanted to.
Oh, you'll get a "(Potential Spam)" in the subject line of their reply, if you ask about sending in a discontinued knife to have it worked on.

Think they'd replace a Spey with a punch? ;) "Case Custom Shoppe" heh heh

Just called them they said my knives are so old (1970s) that new blades wont fit...oh well this is an excuse to buy a large stockman and large moose!

I think about this when I use my Case Bose knives. My ebony Tribal Spear had big gaps between the liners and covers, I could fit a piece of paper in there, I sent it back to Case and it is great now, whatever the weather. Natural material moves etc. I've been thinking about changing the ebony with micarta, but I'm sure that's something Case would not do. I have never put these knives through their paces and don't plan on it, but, how many 154CM blades are sitting around there?
