Is the 6344CV medium stockman smaller/lighter than the yellow 3318CV? I love my yellow CV peanut, so I got a mini trapper, but the mini trapper seems HUGE compared to the peanut. the red bone medium stockman specs say that it is somewhere in the middle of the two. is this right or am I looking at something wrong? is a 'medium stockman' smaller than a 'medium stockman'?

They are both a Premium Stockman...Case calls the 18 pattern a medium stockman and it's 3 1/2" closed and has rounded bolsters. The 44 stockman, called a medium as well, is 3 1/4" closed and has squared off bolsters.

The 6344CV also has a pen blade as the 3rd blade, instead of a spey blade. Since I don't smoke and have no need of a pipe scraper, nor do I work with farm animals and need the spey for it's original purpose , I find the pen blade more useful. With the pen you have a small, maneuverable blade that can poke, probe, sharpen a pencil and whittle. I wish I'd have known Case made a stockman with a pen blade before I bought the 6318CV.

You can't lose either way. Case makes great knives, F&F and customer service haven't let me down, and CV is a terrific steel.
