I notice they only used the red shield on the navy blue bone and Sparxx line. Other than the shield is there anything different about them?

I'm trying to decide between four Case toothpick models and the red shield is calling me.

It's just one of many limited-run variations in Case's line. The shield (assuming this is what you're referring to) is different, but the rest is pretty standard. They also did some in stag few years ago; here's a pic of my 5344 SS 'Red Shield' stockman (2009, if I recall), alongside my 1970 5220 Peanut:

They also had the red shield on a stag line a few years ago. Shield is only difference to my knowledge.

I see where obsessed beat me to the answer.

Thanks, I had narrowed it down to four different Case Toothpicks but that red shield was really calling me. I went with it.

That's my biggest problem with Case. So many choices I go into analysis paralysis. Blue bone, navy blue with red shield, chestnut bone CV, yellow delrin CV... argh!

So many Cases, so little time.

Yes, the red shield has that certain panache, bold if you will, suggesting the past....I like them....

Count me as another lover of the red shield - I like the way it looks on dark blue bone. (Looks pretty good on the stag David, and on the gray bone too Al). OH

It was also used on some of the pocket-worn green bone for a while. I have one of those.

Here's a pic of two pocket worn green bone models, one with the red shield and one with the standard shield.

A red shield poothtick is on it's way to Texas.

A Case Stockman is on my wishlist too. I think I'll stick with the red shield on it as well. That's a beauty.
