I have a Case XX Slimline Barehead Trapper than I bought in the early 1960's. Unfortunately, this is the only knife I have ever owned that I didn't take really good care of. The knife is generally in excellent condition, but I allowed some pitting to occur on the blade. I sent it back to Case and they did a good job of cleaning up and polishing the blade, but some pitting is still visible.

I am not sure if they stopped polishing the blade due to concern about the thickness of the blade, or because they can only invest a certain amount of time in this type of customer service.

Is there someone that I could send this knife to who could evaluate the condition of the blade, and continue the polishing process if feasible?

I would provide photos, but I am not sure I can accurately capture the pitting on the surface of a highly polished blade.
Thanks

Hand polishing a blade with pits can get pretty expensive.
Pits don't really hurt anything.

I understand. But is it something knife makers or similar craftsmen do?

Is there someone who will do this kind of work?
