Hi all
i saw a pic of this knive in a old (1990) BLADE -
is it still be made or a collectors item ?
Couldn`t find a Case homepage ?
Any good quality lookalikes avilable at low prices (less than 150$)?

thx :)

The knife was produced by BlackJack. I don't know of a Case version.

If this helps, it was the BLADE from August 1990 page 91,
an advertise by: > W.R.Case&Sons MODEL #1011 <
but when looking for this i recognized it was a limited production of 2000pc,
sorry i think this is more for collectors

The BlackJack is out of production too, i think?
Or are they starting again this time? With new or old models?

Is that knife a big 9+ inch spearpoint blade with stag scales and thin oval guard?

Hi,
I don't think Case makes them any more. Their website is www.wrcase.com. I see the knife on Ebay from time to time. There is a Blackjack version there now at this link:http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1185955051.
They usally go for between $150- $200. That said, this one went for $135.

Hope you find one you like.

Bill Moran forged this reproduction of the Rio Grande Camp Knife spearpoint Bowie initially, then Blackjack used the Ken Warner/Moran design to make a beautiful carbon steel, brass guard, wood handle knife. This was around the early 1990's. Somewhere around then Case also made a reproduction, using stag scales. I like the Blackjack version the best.

And now for a little info overkill.:)

Yeah, that's one like I have only mine has the stag scales. They are just pinned on without the benefit of any type of adhesive/sealant.
This knife is THICK. I mean it is 1/4" at the spine and has a fairly thick edge to boot.

The sheath on mine is reddish brown and is a three piece affair.
That is, it has two pieces of ~7 oz. leather formed around the blade only and the third piece has been double riveted on the back in a loop to form the belt loop. No retention strap of any kind on this sheath.
The sheath is stitched around the perimeter and has two rivets on either side of the blade 1/4" from the top opening of the sheath. I'm assuming this is also the sheath on the knife in the picture provided by Ripper.

BTW, thank you very much for the pic Ripper. I really suck at describing things in written form and a pic really is worth a thousand words.:D
