Hello All,
I am new to the site and have enjoyed looking around for the last week or so.

I have a quick question about the Case seahorse whittler. If you have a newer non sharpened main blade and you have both small blades open and the main blade closed, is the tip of the main blade visible above the scale when viewed from the side? I know it is a wierd question but I am curious.....

Thank you

Nathan

Howdy Nathan. I'll try to answer your question. I have 3 Seahorses. One that I carry and use daily and 2 that are new and have not been sharpened. On the one that I use and carry daily, the main blade tip is not visible in the condition you described. On the other two, which have not been sharpened, one has a slightly visible tip while the other does not. Please don't let this condition deter you from getting and enjoying a Seahorse. The only time that I have all 3 blades open at the same time is to clean out the usual pocket link. The knife carries well in my pocket and I highly recommend them. If the tip being in a slightly up position bothered you, you can always gring a ever so slight bit of metal off of the small tab where it bumps on the bottom of the frame. Only takes a few strokes on a stone to do it. Hope this helps you. Scott

Thank you Scott. I had one for a little while then sold it on Ebay. I really liked the shape of the main blade but find myself going back to single blade slipjoints. The winner received the knife then asked to return it because the tip of the knife was visible from the side and it was a safety issue. I never thought to have the knife open in that combination. Live and learn.

Thank you again for checking and the pointer for lowering the blade.
Nathan
