Little knowledge needed, school me on Cases fixed blade numbering and lettering. I understand the slip joint numbering,makes sense.one I am trying to decipher is a 316 -5 SSP. Appears 5 stands for length is 316 a model designation?And ssp is this a stainless? Knife not in my possession yet. Appears to be older 70s 80s?

Yes, 316 is the model. Should be a Hunter in stacked leather handle with a 5” blade. The SSP is Stainless Steel, Polished.

Prefera non stainless Knife. I am trying to replace my first knife given to me in the mid 60's was a case , sheath model midsize 4 or 5 inch as I recall don't know the model.Cant remember if that one was ss or not . Guess I will have to do more research.
