Case Shields

I have been around Case knives my entire life and am so used to the oval shield and the overall quality of their knives but why don't they pin them on? I have had the shield come out of two separate knives and the Trapper in my pocket is really protruding on one side you can actually see the glue behind it. Now for my real question. I am wanting to buy a peanut and I really like the Case "Faith" knives. I found a red bone peanut with a "Cross" shield but am afraid it will fall out. Does anyone have any experience with this shield?

Can't really answer your question about the likelihood of the cross shield falling out, but I believe Case stopped pinning shields in the late 70's and definitely by the 80's.

I guess I can understand with the number they are putting out but I am not very hard on knives, especially slippies, and I have had two pop off. Oh well still doesn't discourage me from buying them. I just glue them back in anyway.
