I have a stag handled Case Slab Side Hunter, the larger one with the 5" blade. I really like this knife and was thinking of looking for another one with a different handle material. I noticed that Case doesn't make them anymore, which is unfortunate. They seem a lot more unique than the marbles style knives that Case makes and have all the same ability to be collected that the pocketknives have (easy to have 30 different patterns of bone / jigged bone / C10 or whatever slabs.

Anyone own one with a handle other than the stag?

This is what mine looks like, in case you are not familiar with the design.

This seems to be the closest that they have now. It's nice, and perhaps more traditional, but not nearly as unique. And tough to do a lot of variations on.

I believe that's amber jigged bone, or if not, it very closely resembles one I tried to bid on over at a certain body of water (prices went bananas, it was somewhat disconcerting). I was willing to pay what I considered decisively well over market value to have a fixed blade to pair with my EDC #75, but apparently someone was more committed than I. To pay as much as s/he was prepared to put up for this knife, a person should be committed...to the looney bin. ;) :p

The slabside knife has that boxy, angular appeal which jibes well with the #75 stockman and stands out from most fixed blades of recent vintage. Love to see one pop up at the right time on the exchange, especially since dr0 doesn't need one any more. :D

Why Case has seemed to discontinue the slab side hunter is a complete mystery to me.

I reckon it didn't sell well, but it seems to me that Case needs as more diversity in it's line, rather than less. I regret not buying one when they were easier to get, that's for sure.
