I just lost my sodbuster so I've been looking all over the internet for a full sized Case model in cv, but all I can find is Boker or Solingen. Then when I do find a full sized case sodbuster its always ss or incredably expensive, $160 in some cases.

Is there anywhere I can find a full sized Case sodbuster (not sodbuster jr) in cv for a reasonable price?

I have never seen a sodbuster for that price that high.
Quite honestly, as great of a knife as they are, I would even think about paying 40 dollars.

I haven't looked for a while, but the famous auction site use to have a lot of them for 20-30 dollars.
I would check there. You might even place an add in the want to buy section.

check that certain famous auction site. Even Sodbuster CV's are discontinued you can get lucky in that site. I got my Medium 6.5 Stagbone stockman CV there even it was discontinued few years ago less than $50

Thanks for the quick responses. I didn't even know the case sodbuster was discontinued. That makes sence why I couldn't find 1.
In that case, between brown mule, boker, eye brand, and other co. that makes sodbusters in carbon and full sized, which is best to go with, and how do they compare to case?

I just went and checked Shepherd Hills. They have a full size Soddie listed as an American Workman in blue. It has SS blades though, but is listed as being available in November and is $22.99. I don't know if they are just doing special runs of the full size or not, because they don't have the standard ones listed.

They usually keep fairly current on the offerings.

A couple or three years ago, I bought one used (but in damn near new shape) for $14 on a popular online auction site.

Moore Maker makes a full-size one in 1095, around $50 w/ sheath. Can't vouch for quality, MM's owned by Queen, made by Queen, parts made by Queen, then assembled by MM, couldn't figure it out, might be worth a look though, I'm thinking about getting one.
I have been getting into Soddies lately and the best I can tell is that the last time Case made the full-size CV was around 2007 and that was a seller/distributer exclusive.
I just got one of the American Workman blue's and had to send it right back out to Case, blade badly off-centered, side to side play, haven't gotten it back yet. Other than that it looked good, flat ground blade, nice blue.

I got a 1980 (10 Dot) version (black delrin) in CV a year or so back from an internet purveyor. They are still out there at reasonable prices with a little looking around.

Oh, and the steel takes a wicked edge!!!

I can't say that I recall seeing a large sodbuster in CV. Good luck, flip888, if they make'um, I hope you find one. EDIT - Just saw Blues post, they are around it seems.

On another note, are you guys saying that Case has discontinued the Sodbuster Jr. in CV?

Just a couple years ago, SMKW had a run of them, lasted for a couple months, and they were all snatched up. Perhaps they were a batch of NOS, but it's possible they were a special run, as SMKW gets stuff like that all the time. I don't think they ever advertised them, but I think some of the forumites were alerted to the availability at the time. I suspect most were bough up by collectors.

Case discontinued the full size sodbuster in CV and black handles in 1990.

Later in the 90's they introduced a full size version in yellow and CV but it was discontinued after a few years.

They still offer the full size model in black and SS.
