I recieved this a few weeks ago and did not catch this. Box says cv but the punch is stamped ss. Unless someone can chime in and tell me the punch is ss for some reason? I think I am going to have to try and get this swapped. Pic is hard to make out but its an ss for sure. Any advice on the matter is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the link. Mine is slightly different then yours. I have a sheepsfoot secondary. The cv marking was blocked by the bolster when open. Thanks again for clairifying, wanted to make sure before I file the kick on the sheepsfoot. It sits way high of the frame.

That's normal for the sheepsfoot blade on the 18 pattern. It should never be a problem. When would you ever have the other two blades (clip and punch) opened when using the knife?

Try to use the knife awhile before filing the kick. I think you'll find it comfortable in the hand and and find it un-noticeable for the most part. I've got close to a dozen of the 18 pattern Cases and have never found it necessary to file the kick on one.

Alright Ed, ill take your sage advice. Ill give her a try as is and see how it goes. I am not concerned about cutting myself with it, was just a refference for how high it is. Just seems unnecessary to me as the nail nick is still accessible if I lowered it. Im new to the slipjoints really. Im enjoying the tinkering asspect of it.

I did the same with one of my case stockmen. I like the master blade and sheepsfoot blade spines to be flush so that they are both equally comfortable when open.
