I've been told Case makes both 2 spring and 3 spring Stockmans.
What pattern numbers are 3 spring?
I know the xx18 and xx75 are a 2 spring. What do I want for the 3 blade equivelent?
Do (or did) they make a large 3 spring Stockman?
Are/Were the 3 spring strictly SS or was there a CS version?

The #47 for sure, but didn’t the humpback stockman, that they put out some years ago, also had 3 springs?

Hmmm. I wasn't aware that Case made three spring stockmans. I have "a few" stockmans (men?) but all mine are two spring.

The older #47's were two spring. I don't know when they made the change.

I originally missed this part of your original list of questions.
I have 3 different 47s, 2 bone and one Zytel, and mine are all stainless. But I know Case currently makes a yellow synthetic carbon steel version (the one I saw on a big Case dealer website is listed as 3347 CS).

I just checked the few Case stockmen I have, a large 6347 and medium 3318, both stainless. The 6347 is a 3 spring, the 3318 a 2 spring. They're both about 7/16" thick at the bolsters. The 3 spring has no liners between the springs, and thinner outer liners than the 2 spring, which also has a thick liner between the springs. I don't know if that's due to historical changes at Case or not. I bought the 6347 in the last year or so when the local Ace Hardware had them on clearance, and the 3318 a decade or so ago when Lowe's had all Case on clearance. What can I say, I like a bargain.
