Just got these in a trade 6318 hp and 6347 both in stainless. Never really been a fan of Case stainless but the hollow grinds on these two are really nice and gives them a really great profile. I am carrying the 18 and it takes a really fantastic edge. Does Case still do hollow grinds? These are the first I have seen but of course I don't really collect Case's.

yuppers. buck and case are pretty much the only companies that still do em that way. cool knives by the way!

My new Case 6344 pattern medium stockman has subtly hollow-ground blades.

Boy, those are great knives right there! What member lost his mind and let those get away? :p

Hollow grinds = Case and Buck AFAIK, like maatt1987 said. You'd probably have to go custom if you want a different maker.

I liked the 'matched set' look of those. And the blades were fantastic; kind of nice to just sit and look at on a quiet evening. And Case's stainless takes a very nice edge, for sure.

Ah ya caught me 0rca! Yea members here in the traditional forms let go of some great knives periodically :) These are seeing pocket time. The 18 hasn't left my pocket since it arrived.

I have a few Case stockmans.
I like the late 90s chestnut bone and this 6318
found in local hardware store's Case display
probably the best one.

This 1989 73087 was found w/two damaged blades and no shield.
Case Repair Center & Spa brought it back to knife, I mean life.

These three are first year for the 63090 pattern

Have some 75s but I prefer the 92s for some reason.

I'm really liking my first 63090 thanks for posting those woseyjales! All of those are nice guys! That 1971 6392 is just stunning!

You sure can't tell that by the post!!! Great looking bunch of stockmen. I particularly like the 5 blader even though I probably wouldn't carry it if I had it, because I'm a jack knife kinda guy myself...

Doesn't keep me from appreciating them though.

Does case do reblades on their knives? I have an old stockman, not sure the pattern #, but it has a similiar bone as the 5592 posted by Woesey. I sure would love to put it back in service. The blades are all worn to nubs.

Thanks for the kind comments re the stockers.

ZRF, better call Case repair and ask Mary Ann if they can reblade yours.
Best to have pattern and date code when you call.
Some patterns have changed so new blades won't fit certain older years.
With my 73087 no significant changes between '89 and when I sent it in.
Cost at the time was $10 per blade plus postage.

Peter, I received the 1971 92 in a trade from another cCc member.
I had a pair of Case MM 6375s and he had none.
To solve his dilemma I offered him one and he asked what I wanted back.
I asked for a 92 if he had one to spare & that's the one he sent.
Along w/the old holiday carry 6347 he threw in for ballast.
Yep, one heckuva knice guy. Thanks again L.C.

Soon as he gets here we'll have some Case stockmans for sure.
Guess I could add some more to tide us over.
How's about some 47s?

That's about all I know 'bout forty-sevens.
See, I'm more of a jack knife kinda guy actually.

Thanks for all the eye candy Woesey, and thanks for keeping my thread alive and interesting. The old case that I need the reblade on was my grandfathers (he died in the early 80's and the knife is obviously much older than that). While it may seem sacrilegious to reblade it, I would really love to have it back in service. Knowing that I had brought a tool back to life would sit really well with me.

Enjoy gentlemen

I'd definitely see if it can be re-bladed. I had an old Case #6265 Two-Blade Hunter with carbon steel blades, and it was pretty much shot. The handle was fine, but the blades were totally worn out.

I sent it back to Case, and for a total of $28. (blades + shipping both ways) they brought an old 1960's era cutter back to life. My coworkers were in awe when they saw it, before & after. Case doesn't make blades for this one in carbon steel any more, so I chose stainless. It still works just as well, IMO.

You might ask them for the old blades back, since the knife has such sentimental value, but they may recycle them. (That's what they did with mine.)

Man...that Wosy guy has a lot of nice knifesz>;)
Thanks Rayric,
Please remember though just because I still have their picture
doesn't mean I still have the kanife.
Send some back for credit, give some away, lose some, win some.
Neverending cycle, plus some of the names have been changed
to protect the guilty.
You'd be surprised how fast they rust up buried in barrels in the back yard.
