Case Sway Back Jack Review

Case did a bang up job with the SBJ, that is for sure! I think it is the best looking pattern in the Case line up, and mine have excellent F&F.

For weekday office carry, it is a bit heavy in a suit pant pocket (the Peanut reigns in this area!), but is fine in heavier slacks. It is great on the weekend!

Nice review:thumbup: I've been thinking of grabbing one, but I'm waiting to go to a Case Outlet, because the color of the bone seems to be so inconsistent:confused:

I purchased a second one for my father in law. I hope he likes his as much as I like mine.

I gave this pattern a try and sold it after a brief trial period. Don't get me wrong, it was an excellent knife but two things about this pattern just didn't work for me.

First and most important, the swayback handle design is not all that comfortable to me for typical cutting with the edge facing down. Holding it "upside down" with the blade edge facing up seemed to be the intended position for holding it. So for cutting open letters or whittling, this position seemed ideal. For general use, it just didn't work for me.

Second, the size was just not ideal. Had it been 3 1/2" then maybe it would have been more comfortable. Odd since I have a Case peanut and a 3" GEC barlow and they seem to work in the hand better.

It is a beautiful knife indeed but for me it didn't quite work out.

I too think that this pattern would be more useful if it was larger.

Good review. I like the size and handle. It is a nice size for office and pocket carry.

Kind of a funny pattern, either love it or hate it kind of thing. Never handled one but they sure are sweet looking. Going to take the plunge and try one out.
