Case Swayback blade play help

Just bought a new case swayback 1 blade model and it has what I would consider a lot of side to side play when open, which I know how to fix, however, it still has even more play in blade when closed. What I mean is that you can easily move blade side to side inside bolsters. I see that the angle on the bolster to pivot to blade when tight at top will still allow for it to be loose on bottom which allows the movement inside bolsters when closed....

Not a huge deal there, but still am not impressed with this quality control at this price.
Anyone else have opinions on there swaybacks and the tightness of this piece. Should I send it back to seller on **&y.

thanks

Mark, if I understand what you wrote, the blade (tang end) slips back and forth between the bolsters in the knife when in the closed position? If so, I've never seen any new knife I bought do that (whether Case, Buck, Schrade, GEC, etc.) and I would consider that to be a defect in assembly and ask either the dealer or Case to swap it for another one. OH

The SBJ single blade has a shouldered pin. The hole in the blade tang is larger than the hole in the bolsters. The width of the shoulder should be slightly wider than the blade tang thickness so that the blade can pivot and no shim is needed when peening the bolster sides of the pin. I would send it back because it can only be fixed by replacing the pin.

yes, old hunter the blade tip can easily be moved back and forth to touch each side of the liners. The bolster end allows for this movement, even though it is rather tight there. I will send it back.
thanks
