Yesterday I got a Case Swayback Jack, CV blades and chesnut bone handle. I added it to a knife order for my store as a sort of after thought, just to see what it was like and because I've got a wharncliffe fetish.

It blew me away as soon as I opened the box! It's the best Case I've bought so far (and I've got twenty something Cases). The blades came shaving sharp, fit and finish is flawless, the bone colour and jigging is beautiful. It looks like they really paid attention to little details, like the extended liner.

I feel like I got a lot of knife for my money. I'm thrilled.

My camera is broken, but I'll post pics soon.

Yes it is a ver nice knife indeed. I got the swayback and the stockman too. I love them both. Post pics when you get the chance

The SB jack seems to be quite a popular piece on here.
I just never really warmed up to the Wharncliffe blade. Maybe I just haven't given them a fair chance.
The new Chestnut cv series has got to be one of the most popular versions in quite some time

Wharncliffe is my favorite pattern.

Swayback is a really nice knife.

Its swaybacked, sorta like the handle is reversed. I find it a really well suited/comfortable grip for cutting fruit with the blade being pulled towards but beneath your thumb. lol you see a lot of older guys eat an apple this way, as their front teeth develop a bit of blade play as they get older lol:D

Had to go and bring this up! Now I went and ordered one you are all bad influences on me!:grumpy:
:D

Like I needed an excuse!

I let you know what I think when it arrives. Made the folksy decision and got the cv blades of course!

I really have enjoyed using mine. More so than any production knife I have purchased in the last decade or so (other than the Case/Bose dogleg jack). Been carrying Kerry's knife all this week, so for a change the CV one I picked up a while back is in my pocket today.

I picked up one of the early pocket worn bermuda green versions, blade centering was perfect...really nice for a production knife. Mine came sharp out of the tin...

It is an Otha. About the size of a peanut. Very nice little knive with a lot of blade in a small package.

I have the same one as Ed gordon and it took me a while to realize that it was made for a reverse grip and once I did I really began to appreciate it. I love wharncliffes and now just have to learn how to carve backwards!

I recently picked a CV SBJ in Chestnut. I think it is beautiful. I also think it is a very high quality knife. The fit and finish on mine was flawless.

Either one of these Case swayback's or a seahorse whittler or Schatt & Morgan dogleg whittller will be my next slippie. Just gotta choose which one.
