Evening all..I picked up this recently and have a query as to its markings.It is a lovely knife in and has some nice stag (for a CASE)...I apologise for the lousy pics ,for some reason my camera is misbehaving .On the smaller blade it has....

USA
T.B 57117

I know the SS stands for stainless but what do,s the rest mean??....Thanks for any info. FES

That's a nice looking knife, FES. It should be 52117 rather than 57117.

TB = Tony Bose
5 = stag (6= bone but with some exceptions, 3=delrin)
2 = 2 blades
117 = pattern number
SS = stainless steel

Thanks Supra....it is indeed a 2......Impending old age is cruel!!.......Tis a lovely knife and my first of this pattern....With thanks.. FES

hhmmm nice looking swayback Fes.
Now is that tin old or has it been made to look old?
i don't think these knives are all that old . couple a years or ssomething.
are those scratches of use or just grubby paw prints?
cheers

My Bermuda Green Pocket Worn came with one of those tins too. (As did the Humpback Stockman in PW Harvest Orange) They're a nice item.

You got some great stag Fes! It is indeed a beautiful knife, but more importantly (to me anyway) is the way it feels in hand and pocket. There's a reason it's one of the most popular patterns, congrats!
