I am looking for a new Case, and I will EDC it. I was just wondering what your thoughts are on these two knives. Any size comparison pictures with a ruler would be great! Thanks.

They are both great in slightly different ways. The SBJ is a bit smaller with a Wharncliffe blade and the Texas Jack is a great size with very usable clip and pen blades. I have both and you really can't go wrong. I believe the Texas jack is a little less money if that matters to you. - Ed J

i suppose it really comes down to size and looks. to me the sbj is more of a edc/dress knife. it's small and has a unique shape. when i see it, it reminds me of something a classy guy would carry in the 1900's. the texas jack is a little bigger and more of a edc/work knife imo. but you really can't go wrong with either.

I don't have a CV sway back jack but I do have a sway back gent. Here's a comparison pic.

I wear slacks at work and find that the sway back gent fits in nicely in my "work" knife rotation. When jeans and shorts are in order, I put up the "work" knives and bring out the "bigger" knives. That's where the Texas Jack fits in for me. I like them both very much but they fit into different sectors of my EDC rotation.

This is for sure a get em both situation. At least that's what I did. A couple of great Case jack patterns.

I have both and while I am very fond of them, the Texas jack is more comfortable for me to use. Have fun with the choice. I don't think either would disappoint you.

Both great knives. While the Swayback seems to have better fit and finish, the Texas jack is a better working knife to me just because it fills my hand better and I find the main blade more useful overall than the wharncliffe of the Swayback.
It mostly depends on the role you want it to fill. The swayback fits better in watch pockets and is just a fabulous knife. The texas jack carries great in normal front pockets and reminds me of a knife that could do most anything for a one knife person.

Both is the best answer :) I'm an absolute SBJ fan. The Wharncliffe blade is perfect for what I use it for on a daily basis. The Texas Jack is also great if you want a more traditional blade. The CV steel is great on both and take a nice patina. My Texas Jack below was one I used to experiment with forced patinas. After this picture I also put a satin finish on the bolsters.
