I just picked up one of these up after about a month of staring online at it. See what had happened was.....

I went for a day trip to a knife store in PA. Don't you know they had the very knife I had been staring at online on display in all its beauty. Damn halogen display lights. It was over priced from what I have seen online, but I could not resist. You know the rest.

After having it in hand for a couple hours at home, I began to wonder how it would look polished. I have all the tools to do it but am hesistant. Tell me what you think.

The blade is 154cm....dunno what the bolsters, pins, badge, and liners are....other than stainless steel.

Such items (bolsters) are usually 420.

I polish the satin finish on my Case Bose with Flitz. It's a nice shiny effect. If ithe bolsters get real scratched up, I redo the satin finish with 600 grit paper.

Just thought that I should point out that this thread needs a few pictures to spruce it up

I would leave it with a satin finish, it looks more elegant, I wouldn't want to risk messing up such a nice knife.
I second the call for pictures :)

Ok....here is the stock satin finish. I ditto the need to see polished pictures.

After seeing the pics, I'm for leaving it as-is.

Edit to add "for". Original post, as quoted below, gave the impression that it was mine. Derp.

Yeah...I have to say on a custom or near custom in this case the satin is a better finish. It gives depth to the appearance of the grinds etc. It hides scuffs better too.

If you are going to put that knife in your pocket and wear it, I would not touch it! It will get better with age. If you polish it, it will get worse with age in my opinion. But you have to understand that my opinion and $1.00 will get you a cup of coffee!

They are good people there up in the country, and their prices are way too high in the country, and you got a great knife in the country. ;)

Leave the blade alone. Carry it, enjoy it. I have a hard time carrying my four Bose annuals, including one of these. I am afraid I will lose them.

Very nice knife,I carry mine every day and it is my favorite Case/bose collaboration knife until the trapper comes out as I really like it also but still beleive the lanny clip cant be beat

Great knife, congrats!
I really like the satin finish on mine, but that's just me.
