I was drawn to this forum in search of knives that hearken back to an era of tradition and craftsmanship. I instantly fell in love with the amazing custom knives constantly on display and began putting my name on many of the custom makers lists. Now I patiently wait for my name to come up in a few months or a few years. The problem is I am not a very patient person. And though I work hard to overcome my impatience I still have a long way to go.

So in the interim I discovered these collaboration knives which to me are the next best thing and will satiate my hunger for custom for the time being.

I just wanted to share a pic that was inspired by Bastid's group shot.

Thanks for lookin.:)

I think I won't be the only one to say that you are a very, very lucky guy. Nice!

:thumbup:Great stuff. I even like the weathered wood surface they are sitting on.-very fitting. Those collaborations reek of quality. I am going to have to try one some day soon. But my money is currently being saved for the crop of customs at this upcoming BLADE show. :)

schweet and it looks to me like there is an example of every one!

A great collection! To my opinion they are all good as custom knives. I love them all but the lockback whittler is MY favorite.

Thanks for all the comments every one.

Bastid, you are correct. One of each. When the 2011 comes out I'll have to find a new backdrop.;)

My favorite (which I will distinguish by saying it is the most used) is the Tribal Spear. The dogleg and whittler are right there at the top too.

As a side note none of these are users. I have diplicates of the tribal, dogleg, whittler, and Norfolk which are my users.

Very nice collection indeed! I love the collaboration knives too. So far I have two tribal spears (one is a user), a Norfolk, and a muskrat. Looking forward to the 2011 colab!!

Jared, I knew you were going to get them all.... they look great
buddy... Awesome collection.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comment everybody.

Jason, you knew I'd get them because I'm that compulsive.;)

Or is crazy a better adjective . . .

Nice collection! I have four of the patterns and would love to add a few more.

 You have duplicates of the whittler?!

I had three at one time but realized that was a little too out of control.

oeser, would you mind comparing the Norfolk Whittler with the Muskrat for me? I have a Muskrat (bone), and it's without any doubt the finest slipjoint I own, and as close to the "perfect" traditional knife I've found for my tastes, but every time I see a Norfolk, that feeling comes into question. Which do you like better, and why?

I'm not sure if I can help immensely since I have never carried the Muskrat and only carried the Norfolk and used it a few times. The Norfolk is not much smaller than the Muskrat but to me is noticeably lighter and more pocket friendly. They both have a warny and clip blade just in drastically different sizes. Your choice would boil down to personal preference.

I prefer the Norfolk because I don't need a large secondary blade. I use my secondary for the little stuff like opening boxes and letters and the like. The only reason I have not carried the Norfolk very much is because the warny blade is not big enough for what I use my primary blade for, i.e. slicing/cutting larger things.

If you like the Muskrat and have the funds to pic up a Norfolk or find one at a good price, then I would say you owe it to yourself to buy one. If you don't and you are happy with the Muskrat then I would just enjoy it.

The only reason I have them all is because I get compulsive and slightly obsessive when it come to knife collecting and I had to have one of each. I will say that these collaboration knives are some of the nicest I own as well. I have a few custom knives and that will obviously change when my name comes up with some of the custom makers but for the price you can't beat these collabs.

Hope that helps a little. Sorry I couldn't help more.
