Case Tony Bose Question

I am looking into a Case/Tony Bose saddlehorn but I am a little confused. Most of the time the Case/Tony collaborations seem to be in the hundreds of dollars. This particular one is running around $75. Is it not as good a quality as the normal collaborations? Does anyone have this knife? I am looking at the Burnt White Saddlehorn model.

Thanks all

The saddlehorn is a standard catalog item. The Case/Bose Collaborations are different in that they are made to custom-like standards using higher end steels and limited quantities. Hope this helps

There are two lines of Case/Bose.

The super nice, expensive, limited one and the pretty nice, cheaper, mass produced one.

The expensive ones are not usually highly polished. They are more a matte finish. They have better steel. Custom-like in many ways.

The mass produced ones are typical Case quality, maybe a little better. Case regular steel (CV or Tru-sharp). They have the rounded corners from mass polishing in whatever they call that polishing tank with the stones. Blade centering may not be as precise. Backsprings may be a little "troughy" because of different densities of steel and brass when polishing.

I don't have the saddlehorn, but if it is anything like the swayback jack, it will be good.

As with any generalization, I may be wrong, or imprecise on some points.

Thanks guys I was just not sure what I was looking at and I dont own a saddlehorn pattern yet and really wanted a decent one. I didnt think this particular one was going to be like a true Case/Bose but I figured it never hurts to ask.

I will probably pull the trigger on this one and give it a shot. Got the slippy bug latley and it wont hurt to own another:D

I have sampled more than one ,of the knife you are looking at,in different bone. They are exceptionally good. And the blades fit in the frames nice, closed, compact & feeling good, but open, its a good full size nice feeling trapper.
I would not hesitate

PS swedges & nail nick placement on this knife is impressive!

I've been totin' this one recently and really like it. The mossy green stag is a SMKW special factory order.
