Case - Top of the Line

I want to purchase one Case pocketknife that is considered premium, or top of the line, that is in current production.

From what I understand, the Tony Bose series is that pocketknife. Granted, I know you can purchase these on ebay, pocketknife dealers, etc.

However, I want to purchase one brand new.

I can't find any info on Case's website nor really find any information on what they offer and/or when they offer.

So what's the big secret? How do I get in on one?

Do they only make them in CV or SS? Fill me in on all the details.

Case has two different tiers of the Tony Bose knives. Those that are regular production and those that are annual collaboration knives. The annual collaborations are the way to go if you truly want "top of the line Case". They are costly but worth it in my experience because they are pretty much custom quality. As close to a Tony Bose custom as you're going to get for a fraction of the cost. Norfolk, Wharncliffe Trapper, Lockback Whittler, Cattle Knife, and Dogleg Jack are some of those patterns.

There are several regular production Case/Tony Bose knives as well. They don't cost as much. The Swayback Jack, Swayback Gent, Sowbelly, and Tribal Lock are a few that come to mind but there are more.

You should be able to find brand new examples of most of those on the websites you mentioned.

I believe it would be the annual collaborations I'm talking about.

Is there an "official" way to get a brand new one (not ebay, etc) through Case? Do they tell us when they come out? Do you have to preorder them? etc etc

We're getting outside of forum guidelines discussing the buying and ordering process. I'll send you a Visitor Message to continue the discussion.

The collaborations come out once a year. They are sold through Case dealers.

Depending on which one you want you may find some Case dealers who have some stock left. (no guaranties.)

Go to the Case web site.
Look up their dealer page.
Then go to the web pages of those dealers and see if you can find one.
Usually you can search the dealer's site for "Bose".

Is it like an end of year thing or during the summer or what?

I'll look up the dealer page! Thank you!

Thanks for all the info (I got your visitor message).

Granted, they're a little less expensive but are some of these exotic handle materials from Case considered top of the line also or are they made just like the normal pocketknives?

Out of curiosity, do we have a list of all the Case-Bose Collections pocketknives made over the years? Or even a thread dedicated to Case-Bose pocketknives?

Try searching "case bose collaboration 20××". I'm guessing there's a dedicated thread for each installment.

I would be interested in this as well, maybe a web page with pictures showing each years release?

They do only come out once per year. They are rather expensive ($300-$500 range) and so they don't all sell out right away. There are several Case on-line dealers that have some of the previous years models in stock. These would be brand new from dealer stock.

Also: Here is the link to the Case web site showing the production list for the Case/Bose collaborations back to the beginning through 2014 when they apparently stopped updating the list:

Doing some more shopping/figuring and came back to your post for reference. I think we have a Case enployee lurking the forums. All the sudden that list for updated. Lol

Me? No, I have never worked for Case nor had any affiliation with them other than as a customer and former Collectors Club member. There's a lot you can learn if you do the research for yourself. For a couple of years I was quite interested in Case knives as a collector. Just passing the info along, since you seemed to be interested.

Edit: Oh - never, mind, I see what you mean. Someone did update that list with the new production models after I made that first post. :)

Another alternative to a Bose collaboration is the full-sized trapper with Burnt Amber Bone handles and satin-finished blades from premium (154CM) steel. Check it out here.
