I don't have any pics. I got it from a buddy at the fabrication shop I used to work at.

Here's the descripton

Standard Trapper configuration
What appeared to be Carbon steel blades with a matte brushed finish
Black textured grip panels.

I've looked all over then internet and can't find ANYTHING that looks like it.

Maybe one of you experts can point me in the right direction?

Guess it might be useful to mention that this was in the late 90's and the knife was not new then, so it's probably a 12-15 year old model

Black scales and matte finish sounds like one of the lower priced "workman" series or something similar. The black was probably derlin and the blades were most likely SS. check the traditionals forum here, they may be of more help. good luck.

I just googled the "Workman"

It isn't the same unless there are other models that i don't see.

The one i'm looking for had a brushed finish on the blades that ran perpendicular to the blade. The grip didn't have the typical Case dimpled texture. It was a lineal texturing... the black was flat, not glossy. It was some sort of plastic.

Try checking the ones with G10 handels kinda sounds like what your describing .

well, that certainly looks nice, but it's not the one i'm looking for

i can say for certain that it's not ANY of the ones seen here

i think this might have been either a very rare model, or a one off...

The blade was a more dull color... not shiny at all. The handle had lots of small grooves on it that went perpendicular to the handle of the knife. It was all black, with no other patter, and didn't have any shine to it.
