Case trapper shield replacement

I have a 1987 3 dot yellow delrin trapper 3254.
The shield fell out and I was wanting to replace it. It is a raised letter long tail C shield. I called case and they said the yellow trapper has never come with that type of shield only the standard longer thinner CASE script shield. This one had one. From what I can find they did from 87-89 Anyone know where I can get a replacement?

Does yours look like this one? This is my 1988 model:

Might keep watching eBay or other aftermarket sites for worn/used examples of these, to perhaps steal a shield. That might be a long shot, but may be the only option. Even if Case eventually figures out they apparently DID produce these with a different shield, it's unlikely they'd be able to replace it anyway, for lack of the unique and limited-run part.

BTW, if searching the web for these, the CV (non-stainless) models weren't actually stamped with the 'CV' on the blade tang. Pattern number for it would simply be '3254', instead of '3254 CV'. Case hadn't yet started stamping 'CV' on the non-stainless blades, at that time. If yours is a stainless model, it should be stamped as '3254 SS', I believe.

Yes that's the one. Thanks for the info

In reading about these, Case apparently used that shield across their entire line from 1987 through mid-'89. Might make it easier to find a replacement, if you can get your hands on one of Case's knives from that period. Might focus on larger patterns in searching (trapper, large stockman, etc); very small patterns would've used a shrunken version of that shield, I'm guessing, as this trapper's shield would obviously be too big for some of their smaller models.
