Case trapper with "extra bone"?

Saw a Case in a shop yesterday that seemed unusual.

Dealer said consignor hadn't bought a knife in 20 years. This was a Case trapper with white bone handles. (No, I didn't think to check numbers)

Distinguishing feature was bone was thicker (approaching 2x) in the center of the knife than at the bolsters. This really made the handle comfortable in hand.

I'm not a big Case fan, but the more I think of this knife, the more I'm interested.

Can anybody supply ID or hints as to what it might be?
Also hints on value/rarity?

Thanks in advance!

mrjed - I have a Case Trapper 5 1/8" closed. Stag where it meets at bolsters is 1/2" thick, but at the center it's a whopping 1 1/4" thick. It has a clip and skinner, model 5265 SAB, stainless. This is not a pocket knife, definitely a sheath knife. I suppose I should take some pics... Is this what you're referring to? AAPK price depends... http://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/price_guide/wr_case_xx/knives-65.php ...and they call it a "folding hunter".

Is it the recently launched Antique Bone then ? I have a peanut in this pattern made in July 07 and it's a really nice scale.Thickish too.

Sounds like a nice knife! What was the asking price?
Yeah the thick middle is a blessing and a curse.
I bought a Coleman 5-bladed sowbelly over the winter from an ebay seller.
I love the knife but it has the same problem.
The extra girth in the middle is surprising comfortable but aesthetically i almost wish the panels were flush with the bolsters.
Its is definitely not a pocket carry kinda knife and unfortunately there is no sheath.
I may just have to make one myself.
The fit and and finish is excellent and the steel is seki aus 6.
It is marked 1 of 1000 but honestly i don't know if its worth anything i just bought it cause i liked the look, it was priced right and i was on a traditional kick.lol.
Here are two pics, you only barely get a sense of how thick the middle is.

By the way these pics were NOT taken by me but are the sellers photos.
I really need to recharge my digital camera batteries!

It was priced at 70. The knife I showed the link to was priced at 125 and marked "sold". The price guide I found and my book which my wife found while ago say 55 or so (presuming it's a 2000).

I didn't really pay enough attention to the tang stamps, but the numbers were on the spey blade and I think I remember the Case stamp was like the one shown for the 2000 series. I started liking it more after I left because of the bone handle. If I thought I were getting a $125 knife I'd probably stop by when I go back through next week and get it. Now I'm thinking I'll hold my bucks for a Mini-griptilian or an Opportunist. It's a sweet bone handle, but I don't especially care for Case steel.
