I have a Case 6254W that I bought with the idea of having a pocket whittler. I like the Warncliffe blade. Well, the thing is waaay too big for carving. The blade is too long. I was told by the seller that Case made a miniature version of this knife. Does anyone know the model number?

Case makes an aptly-named "Mini Trapper." I've seen them as #6207 or #3207 (in yellow delrin), though I can never get the numbers straight. Have you looked at the Swayback Jack? It has a wharncliffe main and pen secondary and makes a pretty comfortable whittler.

The Case Improved Mini Trapper is # 6207W. W for Wharncliffe. It's 3 1/2" closed.

There's the Mini Trapper and the Tiny Trapper. The Tiny Trapper is Peanut sized, give or take. The Mini Trapper is roughly medium Stockman sized. Both the blades are full length on the trapper models. Don't know if this helps.

The Case seahorse whittler is probably just what you need. I don't own one myself, but it has a fairly short, stout wharncliffe and a pen and coping blade on the smaller end. Here's a link http://www.collectorknives.net/case-xx-2nd-cut-crimson-bone-seahorse-whittler/.

A buddy of mine that does a lot of whittling says his favorite pattern is the Seahorse. He talked me into getting one and although I'm a still a novice whittler it does seem very well suited for the task.
