A Traditional knife with a little modern kick. Our local Ace Hardware just got these in last month and I finally bought one and used it enough today to form a decent review.
Pocket worn old red bone. Typical Case fit and finish so no complaints there. Hair shaving sharp SS. But for $89 and change? $60-$70 would be more like it. I splurged a x-mas gift for myself. Merry X-mas to me! I imagine the price will go down later on.
This knife is very comfortable. One hand opening was a little tricky at first, but easy to get the hang of. The thumb stud can be reversed. Hint, hint, Left handers.
One thing to watch out for. I handled two each of the red bone, stag, and yellow delrin versions and all of the blades were loose. Too loose, in fact, for pocket carry. Mine opened on me one time in the front pocket. Be Careful if you get one. I handled 6. 6 for 6 and I don't think it's an uncommon manufacturers defect. Let me know if there are any ways to remedy the looseness. I tried taking a cloth , wrapping the top bolster and giving it a few good taps with a hammer, but that only helped to tighten when the blade was next to opened, not at first draw so it's still loose in the beginning.
The liner lock is easily accessible. Closing one handed is a cinch. And the liner seems to be just as sturdy as any tactical that I have handled.
I'll be carrying this the rest of the week and will add to this thread I see anything different. I doubt it though because it's just like any other Case that I have handled. Good quality. Pics to come as soon as I buy a camera. LOL! If you like trappers:thumbup: this knife is just fun to have. I like it. Carried in a sheath of course
Take good care,
Mora
