I like this little red guy

I know…many people show this face thinking about a Case folder knife whit a liner-lock

The REAL, beloved Case Trapper knife is a slipjoint, for the love of God!

But, hey! evolution is a fact, not just a word

And, speaking about Trapper’s knife: Trappers were certainly practical persons, so if they may had a knife one-hand opening and more safe whit a locking mechanism, I think they should be choose it

So, I don’t think the liner-lock it’s a minus, but just a plus for this knife. It’s just different from the classical Trapper.

Coming back to my Trapperlock, here the proper link to Case Cutlery

and here you had some random pics

The Trapperlock it’s easily pocketable due to his small dimension, the best is the watch front pocket of jeans for me. It’s heavier of course in front to a Spyderco folder in similar size, let’ say, but this is not an issue for me. He’s a great slicer, as all the Case knives I had the chance to manage. The liner lock it’s safe end it’s lock the blade firmly. Opening the knife is easy and smooth, unlocking is also a breeze. Great small pocket knife I’d say, very good for EDC use.
Regards, ciao

Hello Alfredo!

Thank you for the photos and the review. Seems to be a nice knife. Do you think, that the linerlock is strong enough, in comparison to a strong backspring, I mean?

The handles look pretty beautiful. The thumbstub seems to be removable, so could be conform for german law. One handers are not allowed to carry here.

Thanks for the thread!

Kind regards
Andi

Its a beauty and thanks for the great pictures. I've never made that face...lol. I have an Old Timer Trapper liner lock and its great.

:D

Thanks for the review. I not only like your taste in knives, I like your style in Posting. :D

Since I first saw these, I've had them on my to buy/wish list.

I find it interesting that a Case linerlock is deliberately made to move all the way to the right when that is the LAST thing you want
to see on a tactical piece. Using the right hand bolster as part of the lock seems like a good idea to me.
I also have a Trapperlock in Hunter Green and it's the easiest opening Case I've ever had.

Nice TrapperLock:thumbup:.

In November I picked up a Case Mini CopperLock in Barnboard. No thumb stud but it is easily opened with one hand. It's my first with Barnboard and I have to say, I like it quite a bit. It has been in my pocket every day since getting it.

Congrats on the new knife and enjoy it.

Another Barnboard fan and wish they would start making it in Black again.

it's not just the right hand bolster, the end of the lock bar is actually 'L' shaped. If look at the pi'c showing the lock you can see that the vertical part of the 'L' overlaps the blade tang with the top of the vertical part touching the right hand bolster. This means the horizontal part of the 'L' always sits against the middle of the contact face of the blade tang. A simple, clever design which will be less effected by wear and tear, unlike a modern linerlock. hope this makes sense!:)

I'm quite fonde of the Trapperlock (one of my EDC) knives. Not a great picture, but a few of my Trapperlocks.
